We’re here for you

We believe that every organisation is unique, so the safety management systems which will work best for that organisation must also be unique. We develop and implement systems in close conjunction with clients, and we do not use any standard material, instead creating fully appropriate and applicable documentation for each specific client.

We’re highly qualified

Operating since 1998 and having a combined knowledge base of almost 100 years, we offer to our valued clients our deep understanding of workplace health, safety, wellbeing and environment. Several members of our team are IOSH chartered and hold NEBOSH diplomas.

We are not risk averse

§  Risk is part of running any business, and there is nothing wrong with risk. Our concern is to ensure that any risks are identified, understood, correctly evaluated and managed, so that any associated legal requirements are met in line with your business.

We don’t like waffle

Every word we write has a reason, hence our systems are only as detailed and complex as is really necessary. 

Our People

  • Helen Ibbotson

    FOUNDER

    Helen began working in health and safety in 1987, working for a health authority, a unitary authority, and in large scale food manufacturing. Her experiences inspired her to set up a SafetyWise in 1998, with a vision of helping the “little guys” gain the same standard of good practice and safe, happy employees that much larger companies are able to enjoy. Helen holds the sought after NEBOSH diploma with distinction and enjoys a position as a chartered member of IOSH. Helen has partially retired but remains available to support the company with her considerable experience.

  • Chris Ibbotson

    DIRECTOR

    §  Chris’ career began in military engineering, later qualifying as a professional engineer. He has worked across a diverse range of different businesses from agriculture, transportation, utilities, construction and rail. He later went on to work as HM Inspector of Railways, a role regulating the Health and Safety of GB rail industry. Chris’ passion is for people and how workplace health, safety, environment, and wellbeing can help support any business to grow. After working part time for our family company, he took over the reins in 2024. He holds the NEBOSH regulatory diploma and is a chartered member of IOSH.

  • Hannah Ibbotson

    DIRECTOR

    Hannah has worked as an archaeologist within the construction sector progressing onto environmental consultancy. She has worked across a variety of different construction and environmental projects from flood defence, water, highways, domestic and commercial building construction and rail.
